Dogwood on the Merced
A single white dogwood blossom glows against the soft, flowing blues of the Merced River. Delicate petals stretch outward like a star, framed by fresh green leaves. The river’s motion creates a dreamy, painterly backdrop that makes the blossom appear almost suspended in light.

Dogwood still holding blossoms. This one, on east side of the property, is still holding blossoms, whereas the one on the west side of the property has dropped all blossoms. Distance between the two trunks is maybe 45 feet, and the tree canopy above and around both sides is similar. Last year, neither tree had many, if any, flowers, and this year, they are loaded. The squirrels are giddy in anticipation of a heavy load of fruit. #floweringtrees #dogwoods #dogwoodblossom
