I travel to Yosemite Valley on a regular basis to hike and to shoot photography. Sometimes when I'm not hiking I'll just sit and enjoy the surroundings. This is especially true while waiting for good lighting to capture some of the areas many landmarks.

Merced River Rapids
The Merced River cuts right down the middle of Yosemite Valley. As the water travels westward out of the valley it starts to pick up steam. In just a short distance Vernal Falls, Yosemite Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls all converge. Just shortly after that the valley drops and the river picks up steam. The roar of the river is amazing.
