Here be me dongles.
(I went digging in my dongle box for a Firewire 400 to 800 adapter, which I found, and noted how many Apple-made dongles I have accumulated over the years. And, so, I share.)
(The Apple-made dongles represent but a small fraction of the overall dongle population in said box o' dongles, mind.)

@goatsarah @fne8w2ah #Apples #Lightning Connector was shit from day 1 and had 0 reasons to exist - unlike the original #DockConnector, but even then the #iPod could've used #MiniUSB or #MicroUSB + #AV-Chinch and #MHL to do Audio & Video.
#MagSafe is also another #proprietary #SingleVendor solution when #Qi+ existed for over a decade.

@Stirlo @tay @Scarlet @EU_Commission Espechally since it's not like the original #DockConnector a "necessary evil" due to lack of alternatives which - like proprietary laptop docking stations - simply fanned-out internal ports and several interfaces...
#MHL on #MicroUSB was long specified before #Apple switched to #Lightning and unlike #USBc, Lightning hasn't even a very high cycle rate of (dis-)connections.
