Tried again to install #distrans, this time on my Pixel 8 Pro running @calyxos.

@LambdaCalculus here's the Termux readout I promised you.

I wonder if there's space for a user interface for distrans? Maybe something in Tauri to make it accessible to folks afraid of the command line.

Exciting times for #veilid and #distrans... veilid-core 0.4.3 just dropped with stable DHT support, which I'm researching as a possible primitive for content-addressable magnet links.

Today I set up a #distrans file seed in a #flyio free-tier instance. Works as a seed box, and another #veilid node supporting the network.

#distrans 0.2.0 is a significant remodel of the file-sharing peer internals for resilience & reliability. Feels like I'm starting to find a groove with designing the right abstractions in Rust.

Much thanks to @Skivling for some great initial feedback!

There are still rough edges. Not ready for general use yet but getting a clearer idea of what it's gonna take to get there, I can see it coming together...

Kudos to the #veilid team for minimizing the build dependencies. Awesome and understated release engineering improvement here. It's going to be so much easier to build and distribute Veilid apps with 0.3.0!

Haven't even gotten to the new DHT improvements. #distrans tracker impl will likely make good use of the new watchers.
