New year, new pickups. Replaced the neck Gibson 490 and the bridge 498T with DiMarzio Air Norton and a PAF Pro. I am used to the PAF Pro in my Les Paul’s for decades.

Well, I've always wanted a more powerful bridge pickup.
This #Dimarzio "Pro Track" pickup is a good fit here, I like how it turned out!

#DiMarzio claims that there is no right or wrong way, but in this guitar, that's not the case: you want the payload coil to be aligned with the strings.

Not only is the tone brighter, but it is beautifully balanced now: the wound strings now have a firm clarity and definition. Everything sounds great. Slapping and popping is fantastic. Finger style classical. Jazz chords.

I got a shiver in the dark as the thing was quacking Knopfler quad four time, and in the meantime it snowed in the park.
