Man’s Veneers Way More Disturbing Than His Old Teeth

As expected, feeling much better now that those stubborn sutures are out. Dr had some difficulty removing them. I told him that clearly he had knotted them too well. He laughed and apologized for the discomfort.
Another couple of days with salt water rinse, which I expected as well. Back to having teeth tomorrow! YAY

Grr. Might need to call the dentist about removing the stitches. They're supposed to dissolve, but only one has done so (and that was a couple of days after the surgery). Seven to ten days have elapsed; it's been two weeks. I'm supposed to start wearing my dentures again, but the stitches make that very uncomfortable.
Grr.

Finding out one is allergic to an antibiotic is not enjoyable.
No more amoxycillin. Z-Pak all the way, baby.

Tylenol III (the one with codeine) is a blessing. First dose yesterday afternoon knocked me out. Second helped me sleep after such a nap. Third let me sleep till 9 (not counting cat-related waking). Just took the fourth.
I may not take another today. The pain is significantly less after that 4am dose wore off.
Definitely glad I took the leap. Six months from now, in time for holidays, my lower plate will snap in and stay put. #DentalImplants

Girl, this dental transition has been insane. No complications, no pain, but the way it’s had my mental space all fucked up is so real! I can’t believe nobody ever thought to mention the toll this could potentially take on my mental health. Today I woke up feeling brand new. When y’all see my lil emo posts just like, comment, and know I’ll be better tomorrow 😅 oddly it’s been even crazier than my double jaw surgery and crowns. I think bc this go round it feels like I’ve spent so much time just being stagnant. If that makes any sense. After my surgery I was busy learning to speak and eat again. I was literally doing jaw muscle exercise. When I had crowns it was nearly instant. Just a couple weeks wearing temps that couldn’t be removed. This prosthetic business is a lot to live with. I’m just thankful it’s only been 6 months of my life and not something I have to live with forever. 180 days, and im about 130 days in. I got this 💪🏾 #mastodon #implants #dentalimplants #teeth

Good morning friends! Wellp im convinced the soreness and slight swelling that linger are from the shots I got before my procedure. I have zero pain and honestly this isn’t as bad as it looks. Worst day ever. I had double jaw surgery 7 years ago and I was told then that there was a chance that the trauma from the surgery could kill some of my teeth. Last weekend the unthinkable happened and I got a tooth infection out of nowhere. 2 days after my last dental cleaning actually. Long story short 2 of my teeth died and 4 more are about to. Now I need 6 dental implants. I’ve already got 33 screws and a few brackets in my face. What’s 6 more screws? 😓 I’m devastated. #mastodon #teeth #dentalimplants
