Day three complete. Tonight's patch by @voxelith and I sounds like something a plant may hear after the rain has stopped and the last drops are falling. This one is titled "Xylem."
Things also on the website linked below.

1. A camera is recording how the patch cables are inserted. Fischer Technik electronics from the 1970s. There are 3 pulse generators, a mono flop and relays. When the relays are connected the clicks are audible.
2. Then this recording is played and manipulated with aNa. We see one video player and 3 additional filters in this signal chain. Two of them are sound reactive.
3. Original 1 and patch 2 is later blended over.

If you are somewhat intelligent or aware, and if you are dissatisfied with this transient world, you want something permanent, and therefore are constantly seeking: you join a movement, commit yourself to a political party or activity, and so on. You are always active in this search. But this search invariably leads to a predestined end. What you want is comfort, permanency, a state of mind that will never be disturbed, which you call peace. And you will find what you are seeking, but it will not be the real, it will not be truth.

Can someone explain why we bother having a Decision Review System (DRS) if the review finds comprehensively that the:
* ball pitched in line with the stumps;
* batter never got the bat near the ball;
* ball rapt the batter on the pad; and
* the computer shows the ball would have hit the stumps.The batter was dead set Leg Before Wicket and should have been out by DRS. And yet, the batter was not out.
So what is the point of having a DRS?

Soooo... I think my "high-level brain" is starting to conflict with #rust.
This works, but:
* clippy wants to me to rewrite a loop to use iterators, but I don't get why it'd be better
* I think I should be using pass-by-reference rather than values in a few places
* that type on my parse function looks scary
* I am using Vec but this all looks pretty static so I feel it should all be arrays? dunno.

CW: Advent of Code 2025 Day 3 solution
Day 3 done. This one was pretty easy.
My part 1 solution mostly generalized to part 2, but I ended up having to rewrite the whole function anyway because I didn't make it flexible enough. For part 1 I initially just scanned for the max digit in the whole line except for the right-most digit, then found the max digit to the right of that.
For part 2, I effectively generalized it, but had to calculate how many digits I was allowed to find the max in, and loop over each number of digits I still needed to keep room for. A little fiddly, but not too hard at all. I'm kind of curious if doing it arithmetically using a bigint would be faster or slower. My gut says that it would probably be slower, and just save a little bit of memory.

I knew when I first saw this year’s prompt list I’d likely try to draw an Apple Watch for today, showing its Digital Crown.
