After trying all the note apps available in F-droid it turns out I'm using one of the 3-4 better ones, Easy Note. Just wish they hadn't gone for maximum overkill with the title in the widget.
I'm trying to get off D-Notes as I've only recently found out that they are a data stealer for the big G(oogle) thanks to ditching Firefox for DuckDuckGo.
