The Kiddo had another croup incident tonight, so we were just sat out in the yard enjoying that -12°C cold air and silence for a while, until she stopped wheezing. ❄️

#tripledemic feels inadequate. Myself and family and friends of mine have been hit with #COVID19 #flu #croup and #shingles just in the past month. Please, everyone, get #vaccinated and/or #boosted against what you can while you can before getting together for the #holidays
Stay safe out there.

With the rapid rise in respiratory viruses in kids, there are more ER presentations of croup.
A barky cough alone is OK. You can see your family doc or pediatrician.
If there’s any trouble breathing or noisy breathing when the child is calm and not crying, go to the ER.
Cold air can help with the cough, or noisy breathing when you child is crying. Take them outside, or open the freezer so they can breathe in cold air.
As always, when in doubt, go in.
