You might have read the news about a new #CrossBorderBus line between Terneuzen 🇳🇱 and Gent 🇧🇪 , that will start service in December of this year.
What they didn't tell is that the current bus route between Terneuzen and Gent, which involves a change of bus between Connexxion and De Lijn in Zelzate 🇧🇪 is going to be impossible from 3 May of this year, because the Terneuzen - Zelzate bus is going to be a rush hour service and the sections between Sas van Gent and Zelzate replaced by flexible transport that has to be booked in advance using an account at the province.

From Dreiländereck news: In addition to the established IDOL 691 bus line running every 4 hours during weekends between Zittau 🇩🇪 – Bogatynia 🇵🇱 – Frýdlant 🇨🇿 – Świeradów-Zdrój 🇵🇱...
A brand new line IDOL 692 started running Monday to Friday every 2 hours between Zittau 🇩🇪 – Bogatynia 🇵🇱 – Frýdlant 🇨🇿 since the 1st January. It runs in a different time slot than the weekend one, connecting into the Taktfahrplan node in Zittau in both directions. Also has more stops in Zittau, Porajów, and Sieniawka.
Finally a decent replacement for the Zittau 🇩🇪 – Bogatynia 🇵🇱 – Frýdlant 🇨🇿 railway line. It took just... It has been 80 years and few months since the line was cut into pieces by two closed country borders and 50 years since the last train ran on the last remaining section.

Interesting #CrossBorderBus experience to #Trstená. It's 28min late and there's no dynamic departure board at the bus station. Person counter (it says "ticket") does not sell you tickets and does not know the price. But she can tell you the departure stance (9). There, a small print timetable tells you the bus continues into Slovakia. The dynamic departure board there tells you the last Polish stop.
HOWEVER Google knows the real time position of the bus and its final destination.

Apparently, there's a bus from 🇫🇷 Briançon to 🇫🇷 St. Michelle Valloire - via 🇮🇹 Cesana and 🇮🇹 Oulx but without any stop scheduled. Two years ago, there used to be stops in these towns too, but it looks like :zou: lost interest in it.
After quickly asking the driver it looked like no issue to still let us leave the bus in 🇮🇹 Cesana since our destination is 🇮🇹 Torino for today.

Another #CrossBorderBus? Yes! This time it's the 42 from Brugge, BE, to Breskens, NL! This one also has fun instructions for passengers to tap in/out at the border, which leads to some fun shuffling around the bus at the first NL stop.

One-day event in #Helsinki in February.
A total of six days of #CrossBorderRail & #CrossBorderBus travel to avoid flying.
Train schedules and booking options for February not yet available for all legs of the trip. Hoping that everything goes as planned in the middle of winter.

Amazing mountain scenery today on the #CrossBorderBus from #Tirana to #Skopje today.
On the side of the road, one could also see the defunct single train track from Elbasan to Prremjas ( #Albania) and the (seemingly active) single train track from Ohrid (#NorthMacedonia) north.
Would be nice for the EU to support candidate countries‘ rail where possible, wouldn’t it be @jon?

Kein #CrossBorderRail, aber doch eine halbwegs anständige, regelmäßige #CrossBorderBus-Verbindung mit der ich noch den heutigen Bonustag von #watmitGüterstreken (ohne Güterstrecken) beginne.Das Ticket Flensburg - Sønderborg kostet stolz-umgerechnete 15 Euro. Bezahlung nur in bar möglich (in Skandinavien sind doch alle so kartenaffin?), Rückgeld in DKK. Es gilt einzig der dänische #Sydtrafik-Tarif, D-Ticket bis Grenze wird auch nicht angerechnet.

#Modane 🇨🇵/ #Bardonecchia 🇮🇹 is a border very hard to cross for Interrailers. There are no regional trains and Interrail reservations for highspeed services are limited (TGV) or not possible (Freccia).
If you weren't successful at getting a reservation/promo ticket, there is a mini-bus shuttling on Mondays to Saturdays between Modane and Bardonecchia through the Fréjus road tunnel. Ticket is 3,40€ and timings are adapted to regional trains to Torino.
