  1. Being charitable, I haven't played it yet. Maybe it will become more clear once I start playing the game.

In the meantime, though, I find myself cludging together other playbooks to create what seems like a fairly standard character type.

  2. I'm pretty stumped by this gap in playbook coverage -- to me, the master of disguise is such a staple of the genre that it feels unthinkable to have left it out.

Maybe the intent is that because it's so baked into the genre, everyone should get a shot at it regardless of playbook -- for the same reason there isn't a class with more romance-related moves -- but I haven't seen any evidence of that.

    Very puzzling.

  3. The Key also has a *reputation* for their social prowess, so is clearly not intended to be an anonymous face in the crowd.

Finally there is The Kiss, an extended playbook that's technically beyond the base scope of the game. This is a "fae-touched charmer and magical manipulator" with the ability to magically disguise themself. It almost sounds like what I want, except that it brings in a whole bunch of magical effects I'm not interested in.

  4. Making a character for Court of Blades, a Forged in the Dark game of court intrigue and romance. I'm excited to have an opportunity to trot out one of my favorite character archetypes, which is also highly situational: "spy who spends so much time being other people they don't remember who they are."
