  1. The #dockbug #Coreus #marginatus (#Coreidae) is distributed from Europe to Asia. In #CentralEurope, it undergoes one generation per year, with the adults spending their #winter #diapause in hidden places. From October onwards, it can be found e.g. on the underside of #deadwood, as seen here in #Berlin's park Rehberge. T. O. Markova et al. (2020) did studies on the ecology of the #FarEast #subspecies C. m. orientalis.

  2. The #dockbug #Coreus #marginatus (#Coreidae, #Heteroptera) is distributed from Europe to Asia and parts of Africa. It feeds e.g. on docks and sorrels. After 5 nymphal #instars, the bug overwinters as adults. Authors Pekár, S., Hrušková, M. (2006) found that the #bugs use all three of their #senses to #recognize their #food: eyes, antennae, and labial sensillae.
