(The problem with being #ContingentFaculty is that you are technically not required to do many of the things that #TenuredFaculty do. But if you have any hopes of securing a more permanent position, you have to continue building your CV with stuff that is, well, the stuff required of tenured folks.)

So did I just conclude a fellowship application by saying "listen, I know I don't have as many publications as I should at this point in my career, but if you pay me to do nothing but write and I don't have to teach first and write second, I'll get more published"?
