The photo bot on a roll with strike photos. Keep in mind, switchboard operating was very much considered women's work. Gotta wonder how bad these all male presenting supervisors are f*ing it up. This was during a very large national strike that lasted 5 weeks. Workers won modest increases lower than initial demands. AT&T and Bell settled contracts with several independent locals first, apparently trying to divide and conquer. Afterwards the National Federation of Telephone Workers reorganized into the CWA. The CWA local was one of the unions which led the call for a General Strike recently during the ICE occupation.

"Tenant and labor unions in Minneapolis and St. Paul have announced plans to carry out what they said would be the 'largest rent strike in the United States in the last 100 years.'
"Beginning on #March1, if Democratic Minnesota Gov. #TimWalz does not meet their urgent demands for an #EvictionMoratorium and #RentRelief, a coalition of nearly 26,000 workers has pledged to withhold rent, which they said could create a massive economic disruption.
"The plans were announced on Tuesday by the tenants union #TwinCitiesTenants, which is joined by five labor unions: Service Employees International Union (#SEIU) Local 26, SEIU Healthcare Minnesota/Iowa, UNITE HERE Local 17, the Amalgamated Transit Union (#ATU) 1005, and Communication Workers of America (#CWA) 7250.
"They argued that a freeze on rents is desperately needed after 'nearly three months of federal occupation' under President Donald #Trump’s '#OperationMetroSurge,' which sent nearly 3,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (#ICE) and other immigration agents to the area, resulting in multiple fatal shootings and a wave of #CivilRights violations, including explicit #RacialProfiling."

Am Beispiel ePatientenakte, #ePA, in Deutschland kann man auch gut nachvollziehen, was passiert, wenn die politische Ebene - ob aus Borniertheit, Seilschaften-Sumpf oder aus Profit/Macht-Kalkül - die Bürgerinnen und Bürger nicht beteiligt.

Setting aside the deliberately provocative lead-in, I'd like to talk about something about how unions work that I think a lot of leftists could learn from.
When you see a worker in trouble you have solidarity with them _first_. It doesn't matter if it has never happened to you personally, or if you don't know the specifics, you can figure out a time when you were degraded, or hurt, or treated without regard for your humanity by management. You can empathize and show up regardless because we are all victims under the capitalist system.
It's not about who this person is, what they might have done previously, whether the policy affects someone you know personally, or anything like that. You show up for them because they are a _fellow worker_.
It also goes back to: find ways to connect it back to how we are treated as workers. Every time.
