  1. @mozilla Sad to hear this! But w/ only 87 posts, you weren’t really using this as a comms channel much(!). And w/ not really using relevant hashtags in yr posts (y’know, like #Mozilla or #Firefox ) even fewer people will have seen yr posts as they flowed past in the stream… I hope you’ll maintain a Mastodon account somewhere else? (Otherwise this is yet another sad sign of what used to be the best hope for a #communitarian web continuing to get ever more lost at management level.)

  2. The role for the #State under my version of #communitarianism looks like this #communitarian #mmt

Extracts from The case for Universal Basic Services (#UBS) by Anna Coote

  3. Since discovering #MMT & associating with & being influenced by true progressives my ideals have shifted to a State supported democratic commons

This is sometimes called communitarianism but not a lot of #communitarian seem to like State involvement. I sit in the larger highlighted area.

  4. I consider The Cider House Rules to be one of the greatest #pragmatist novels.

What are other novels, short stories, or novellas that you find to be very pragmatist?

    Perhaps it touches on:

-#Democracy as a way of life
    -Social nature of truth
    -Naturalism
    -#Communitarian ethos
    -Experience over abstract reason
    -Solidarity with others
    -Skeptical of #fundamentalism, #scientism, literalism
    -Practical consequences of ideas
    -Humans as active agents
    -Language as a tool
    -#Egalitarianism
    -#Pluralism

  5. Hello, all! Let me introduce myself.
    — I’m a Conservative Friend (a member of that tiny branch of #Quakers that leans toward what Quakers were centuries ago).
    — My 1971 B.A. in #anthropology made me a #communitarian.
    — Since the ’80s, an #environmentalist in sympathy with Aldo Leopold, Brower, Soulé, &c.
    — In Colorado 1973-2003; came to Billings, #Montana in 2015.
    — Not fleeing the bird site, but jaded on FB. This place seems a breath of fresh air in comparison!
