  1. RE: mastodon.social/@Lazarou/11631

This is wild - but it might actually be the perfect theme for a Fragments successor: religious #Fundamentalism, #Esotericism, and #Parascience. Interested?

“Fragments #5” drops this week - and it’s all about fears.

  2. Mapping the promised land for God’s chosen people
Imagined lands, biblical narratives and monotheistic practices and beliefs.

  3. CW: much f-word

    "Oh, fuck off."

-- me, to a pair of smarmy religionists showing up at our house, uninvited, unsolicited, ostensibly to "share" some trite garbage out of their stupid holy book, just now, before slamming the door in their faces.

Yeah, it's probably a bit immature of me, but I don't care. Sometimes what you really need, deep down, is to tell some smug religious jackasses in no uncertain terms to fuck off.

  5. Lead, and what it does (and doesn't) tell you about the age of the Earth

The fact that we can estimate the Earth's age, over a 4.5 billion year span, to within 1% accuracy, is pretty flippin' amazing.

And yes, lead plays a role. Though some people get that wrong.

Anywho, if you're into that sort of thing:
