The back story behind Craig Renney being prevented from attending the Budget Day lockup along with other media and financial media or representatives by Nicola Willis' treasury is very telling.
NZ independent media organisation Blind Fish Media who are behind #BHN applied and were granted approval to attend budget day lockup although access was awarded to Blind Fish Media Director Pat Brittenden.
Pat responded to treasury stating he would not be the journalist attending the budget day lock up and it would be their Wellington based journo. Treasury confirmed access would still be granted but requested Blind Fish media to advise Treasury when they could confirm the journo's name. Strangely enough upon confirmation that the Big Hairy News journalist is Craig Renney #NZPol Treasury withdrew its approval.
