Good morning Fedi friends. It was a very chilly 0c this morning & even now is only 1c. The sun is up & shining though & it’s going to reach a very pleasant 18c.
Yesterday was a very full day, up at 5.30am to make sure all my house sit animals were dealt with, food, short walk etc before being picked up by a friend to head down to the alternative farming expo in Seymour for the day, a 2hr drive away. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did but it was fabulous, definitely a focus on farming, but it’s also so much more. There were plants - I bought 2, alternative therapies, animals including camels 🐫 that I was able to stroke & scratch, very gentle animals. Boutique gins & whiskey, clever craft people - I bought a hand carved wooden chain. Something for everyone. It was a fabulous day out. Arancini & a coffee for lunch.
When we headed home though things got a bit tricky, we were diverted at Euroa & again at Violet Town due to a B double accident on the freeway & it added nearly another 2 hours to the trip. Not that it bothered us to be delayed, but it meant our day out was around 12hrs long. We also rang the police to tell them about another B double on the freeway that was all over the road & as we passed him I looked up into the cab & the guy is leaning over his steering wheel, looking at his phone 🤷🏼♀️😳 - another accident waiting to happen. Absolutely shocking.
I was so tired once I got back to the sit & feeling guilty about leaving the animals for so long, although they were fine.
So today is going to be quiet day after I’ve walked the dogs & it’ll be a good long walk this morning.

CW: NZPol - ACT will "reignite" its anti-Maori campaign
In one of NZ's biggest democratic slap-downs, 300,000 kiwis submitted against David Seymour's divisive Treaty Principles Bill earlier this year.
But that hasn't put off the dedicated Atlas Network operative and Mr 8% promises to reignite the debate next year. The man behind the school lunch slop fiasco is still trying to sell his racist policies as some sort of quest for equality.

But David Seymour will still be happy because the mouldy meals only cost three bucks per head, including a tidy profit for Compass.

It's hard to tell if numerous coalition MPs really have fallen for the AI hype, or whether they're using "AI" as a cynical excuse to dodge accountability and ignore evidence.
Does Seymour really believe that stochastic parrots fed on their own error-filled excrement will magically halve budgets? Perhaps he envisions his own version of DOGE with him playing the part of Musk.

Das Haupteinsatzgebiet ist v.a. werktags die Breitspurstrecke nach #Seymour, wo die einteiligen Triebwagen meist in Drei- oder Vierfach-Traktion verkehren. Doch auch dort wurden die Leistungen zuletzt stark reduziert und auf VLocity umgestellt.
Weiteres Einsatzgebiet ist noch die Stony Point Line, welche jedoch von Metro Trains Melbourne betrieben wird.

Hopefully Seymour has reflected and decided to do the honourable thing and resign following the school meal fiasco.

Seymour has just received another public whack from National. I don't think they like him.
Seymour has ministerial responsibility for school attendance. Last year he claimed schools were "setting a bad example" by holding “teacher only days” and promised to cut back the practise.
But today Erica Stanford said Seymour did not have the ministerial authority or support to make decrees or promises about teacher only days.
Touché, Mr 8% blowhard.

Hilariously I heard the #TeTiritioWaitangi fountain of knowledge David Seymour suggest #AllBlack and #Māori TJ Parenara was a great #rugby player and sportsman but was no authority on #TeTiriti and should not be making public statements about it.
If that’s the case I am not sure #Seymour is qualified to speak on Te Tiriti either and he’s probably a terrible rugby player to boot. -
