  1. #ElectionDay is TOMORROW, November 5th! Make sure you and the people in your life have a voting plan, and let's set 2025 on a greener path by electing climate justice candidates at every level! 🌎💚

  2. Thank you to every #ClimateVoter who took the opportunity to vote early! If you're planning to vote on election day, take some time this weekend to make your voting plan! And if you're already set, reach out to your family and friends and make sure they are too! 🌎💚

  3. Brexit divergence from EU destroying UK’s vital environmental protections theguardian.com/environment/20

It’s all going to plan. The deregulatory ‘benefits’ of Brexit ‘freedoms’, making the UK a much more green and pleasant land. 🤦🏻‍♂️

UK is rapidly becoming the dirty waste basket case of Europe.

That’s why we need @greenpeace Project Climate Vote.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be a #climatevoter in 2024.

  4. The Guardian view on Labour and the climate crisis: the £28bn question deserves an answer theguardian.com/commentisfree/

Climate Voting is the only democratic answer we have. Vote for the party with the strongest policies and plans to address the crisis.

  5. UK government is not prepared for climate disasters, says spending watchdog theguardian.com/world/2023/dec

    But ‘ULEZ’, ‘pragmatic’ and ‘inconvenience’.

The Tories just want cheap short term votes and bugger the consequences.

Meantime insurance industry now says it’s massively undervalued climate risk while houses keep getting built on flood plains (inc where I live).

    Omnishambles.

  6. UK likely to miss Paris climate targets by wide margin, analysis shows theguardian.com/environment/20

Maffs, innit. The area under the curve matters. That’s why we have interim targets. But Rish! doesn’t seem to understand (or maybe doesn’t care).

Meantime, join me and become a #climatevoter - let’s make them all raise the bar:

  7. Sunak’s U-turns make net zero harder and keep bills high, watchdog warns theguardian.com/environment/20

Yeah, like #sevenbinssunak gives a toss.

Shame that most of the population do though, eh? Never mind, he’ll be gone soon enough because it’s a losers tactic.

  8. Labour wants to build 1.5m homes – but how green will they be? theguardian.com/society/2023/o

    Close, but no banana (yet).

Starmer’s speech was thin on climate and environment. The usual buzz-word platitudes, but lacking in real substance beyond energy generation & distribution.

Respective voters need solid assurances on climate & environment.

    That’s why I’m a #climatevoter - check out

  9. Dear Keir Starmer: here’s what you should know about Sunak’s attack on climate policy – he lied and lied theguardian.com/commentisfree/

    1. Sunak is scorching the earth.
    2. The corporate pressures to maintain status quo aren’t going away.
    3. The moral imperative to act is overwhelming.
    4. However bad it is, put on your big boy pants, Starmer, if you want to be PM.

    Psst, read this:

  10. I helped fund Just Stop Oil, but no more. The ballot box will be more powerful than disruption theguardian.com/commentisfree/

Yeah, I get it Dale. But Kier is following Tories rightward, giving ground too frequently and not standing with clear conviction on decarbonisation. That’s why we have #greennewdeal hounding Kier for pledges.

So if you’re telling me Kier will plant his flag on a viable plan to NetZero, I’m in. But I ain’t seeing it.

We get culture war with or w/out JSO….

  11. @jsl @GreenpeaceUK

    Don’t we all!

Fortunately we have the weight of Greenpeace and a growing mass of #climatevoter on our side ✊

  12. #Rosebank approved by regulators. WTAF?

500m barrels of oil we mustn’t burn, creating 200m tCO2e we can’t accommodate in the atmosphere. This is utterly indefensible and shameful.

Ask yourself. Who are the real #ClimateCriminals?

This is why I’m a #climatevoter, to put an end to self-destructive cr*p like this.

How to win votes: manifesto commitments forms greener, fairer society @GreenpeaceUK

And here’s what I want to climate vote for.

45 clear target commitments. The bar is high. Which parties will clear it?

  14. greenpeace.org.uk/news/vote-fo

A vote for the climate is a vote to fix everything that’s wrong with the UK.

    I’m a climate voter and here’s why:

Warmer homes, lower bills, better health, more jobs, a stronger economy.

    Are you in?

  17. I had so much fun in this conversation w/ @brockbenefiel on the @climatepod. Please listen to this very timely deep dive on the #GeorgiaRunoff, #ClimateVoter turnout in the midterms, and why 2023 will be so politically important for the climate movement.

  18. If you go with the assumption that climate action has become a big driver of voting in Australia, recent ‘surprising’ election results make a lot of sense, and the data are now bearing this out.

I suspect NZ is lagging behind but likley to go the same way as the climate floods, droughts, slips, storms and forest fires intensify.
