    "COP30 Isn't a Failure — It's a Farce

Why these climate summits can’t solve the crisis—and why we should support Indigenous land struggles instead.

    (. . .)

The day of the march, human rights and environmental groups published an open letter accusing UN climate chief Simon Stiell of “creating a chilling effect and a feeling of unsafety for Indigenous peoples,” after Stiell called on Brazil to increase security forces around the COP venue.

The day before, gunmen attacked the Guarani Kaiowá Indigenous community of Pyelito Kue in the southern Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, killing land defender Vicente Fernandes Vilhalva, injuring four other community members and burning down all the community’s homes and property. The assault, the fourth of its kind in two weeks, comes as the Guarani Kaiowá have engaged in a struggle to reoccupy some of their ancestral lands."

  3. Another great video from #OurChangingClimate on #Nebula
The #ClimateCisis is caused by #Capitalism not the end users. To say that end users are responsible is an "insidious from of victim blaming".

  4. @mmoutou

My guess would be to survive, #Tourism in #Greece & elsewhere on the Med would need to develop models of activity that work with the #climatecisis not against it... so more indoor activity, more shade & also (perhaps) look to diversifying away from tourists to other visitors? But equally, as changes become more extreme in the media term, it may prove impossible to engineer a good visitor experience any longer....

  5. #JustWannaShare

It's mainly food for my own tought,
    but still worth sharing.

In the Netherlands the GreenLeft party and the Labour party are going to cooperate in the upcomming election. That is why this clip is so interesting to me.
Being Green Left since high school (+45 yrs ago) and with the #ClimateCisis on the top of all my agendas; I want the system to change, and
I do see that the climate crisis is also, and very much so, a crisis of equity. #TaxTheRich and #MAPA. (Most Affected People and Areas)
As such the cooperation and maybe later the union of the two parties could be highly beneficial.

The clip is a podcast like discussion with the author of a book (@MattHuber) on the subject.
