As special rule you have that your starting Impis do not have any upkeep, but your opponents are technically advanced. Years ago we posted about Blake's #Civ2 preservation project https://civfanatics.com/2021/12/21/civilizations-30th-birthday-blakes-civ2-mod-preservation-project/ which went on to preserve several thousand lost Civ2 mods & scenarios. Well now he's kicked off a new Civilization 3 scenario & mods preservation project starting with 4 large collections totaling around 16 Gigabytes. It's June, and it's again time for another round for the "Game Of The Month" for #civ3 !
For the Civ3 addon "Conquests" you get the GOTM #172: You play as Sumeria on a standard size continents map with raging barbarians. You start with an extra Enkidu warrior, which is stranded somewhere else on the planet. You have as usual for the Civ3 GOTMs 3 months to play this challenge, until September 30. For the addon "Play The World" you get the GOTM #199. Here you play as Germany also on a normal size continents map, but with 70% water, and you get restless barbarians. @GamesMissed yeah, the Sid Meier Megabundle has only from #Civ3 upwards.
There was a DVD set a long time ago which had all of them, but afterwards there were some copyright issues, and the state of #Civ1 and #Civ2 is in a limbo :/ -

Thanks to the success and popularity of the recent Fallout TV show many fallout players are returning to their favourite Fallout game. However what if you wanted to play a #4X turn based strategy game set in the #Fallout universe? Well fear not, CivFanatics and the #Civilization series has you covered! :)
While there are no Fallout mods for #Civ2 per se, there are plenty of similar Apocalyptic wasteland scenarios that many of which can be found here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/scenario-hunt.657278/
However the best ones are for good old #Civ3 where Thorgrimm created the truly remarkable Fallout The Rebirth of Civilization total conversion scenario based on the earlier Fallout games. Then Sudo007 took Thorgrimm's work and created a Fallout Liberty scenario based on Fallout 3. Both suffered some frustrating bugs however in 2024 Fallible_Fiend patched both scenarios with bug fixes and new features.

@mattontech FYI, you can also flip cities with culture in later games, not only #Civ3 ;).
EDIT: And Warlords wasn't really a that big expansion.
