    The new year has just started, and in case you are already feeling the urge to play another round of Civ3, then we got exactly the right thing for you: The new "Game Of The Month" for #Civ3 is available!

    For Civ3 with the addon "Play The World" we got the GOTM 201, where you play as the Zulu on a normal size pangaea map on regent level. As special rule you have that your starting Impis do not have any upkeep, but your opponents are technically advanced.     5 years ago for Civ1s 30th anniversary we posted Blake's video here about how to play it in HD with the best mods & scenarios and now as we close in on Sid Meier's Civilization II 30th anniversary the time has come to do the same for Civ2. In the intervening years Blake has painstakingly searched, rescued & preserved several thousand Civ2 scenarios made over the last 3 decades and is now showcasing many of the best total conversion ones in this video. There’s also previews on some crazy new mods of Blake's that change nearly everything in Civ2 to look like Heroes of Might & Magic, Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Dune, and Alpha Centauri to name a few.     For the addon "Play The World" you play as Cleopatra of the Egyptians. You are set on a standard size arid Archipelago map with 60% water and 9 opponents on Deity level. You also got roaming barbarians, but as a goody you start with your first city and with the Pyramids already! You can submit your attempt until December 31st!     There was a DVD set a long time ago which had all of them, but afterwards there were some copyright issues, and the state of #Civ1 and #Civ2 is in a limbo :/

    Thanks to the success and popularity of the recent Fallout TV show many fallout players are returning to their favourite Fallout game. However what if you wanted to play a #4X turn based strategy game set in the #Fallout universe? Well fear not, CivFanatics and the #Civilization series has you covered! :)

    While there are no Fallout mods for #Civ2 per se, there are plenty of similar Apocalyptic wasteland scenarios that many of which can be found here: forums.civfanatics.com/threads

    However the best ones are for good old #Civ3 where Thorgrimm created the truly remarkable Fallout The Rebirth of Civilization total conversion scenario based on the earlier Fallout games. Then Sudo007 took Thorgrimm's work and created a Fallout Liberty scenario based on Fallout 3. Both suffered some frustrating bugs however in 2024 Fallible_Fiend patched both scenarios with bug fixes and new features.

    The Baltimore Banner has just before Christmas ran a title called "How Baltimore County became a hidden world of video game companies".
    As many of you know, Baltimore is the home to our most important gaming studio, Firaxis, but not only that. Its predecessor, Microprose, was also situated in Baltimore, and more recently also many things have happened there. Firaxis personnel has spawnd other studios like "Big Huge Games", which were responsible for "Rise of Nations", and very recently Oxide Games, which has developed "Ara: History Untold". And we don't know yet what games will come from 2 other studious founded by Firaxis employees, Bit Reactor and Midsummer Studios.

    In the GOTM for "Play The World", you play as Tokugawa of the Japanese on a normal size continents map with a cool climate and sedentary barbarians. The difficulty level is deity.     Five #videogames to introduce yourself? This will be fun!

    1. #Deathloop (probably my all-time favorite)
    2. #EscapeAcademy (I'm a huge fan of #EscapeRooms)
    3. #Civ3 / #Civ4 / #Civ5 (I have probably poured more hours into the #Civilization series than any other aside from...)
    4. #NHL22 and the previous #EASports #hockey games (so many seasons in franchise mode!)
    5. #Wolfenstein3D specifically for the #AtariJaguar. This was the smoothest and best-looking version of this game.
