Where there’s a will there’s a way: respect!Is it a Citroën Ami? Just read this review dated 2020: top speed 28mph, range 43 miles & the “5.5kWh lithium-ion battery … takes three hours [to recharge] on a UK household supply.” It weighs 485kg & seats 2.
“It’s not a car, of course, it’s a quadricycle…”
Special rules (France, UK) apply apparently.
Still, a nifty solution that could suit some. -
Auch im neuen Jahr 2026 wird man uns jeden ersten Donnerstag im Monat beim Stammtisch finden können. Ab 18:00 trudeln die Motorboys kleckerweise im Erfrischungsraum der ehemaligen Großtankstelle Brandshof ein und schnattern, was das Zeug hält. Für Kalorien ist gesorgt - ob flüssig, ob fest. Wer nicht mit dem Raumpfleger:innenfachpersonal aus der Waschhalle gefegt werden möchte, sollte bis spätestens 21:00 die Sicherheitsgurte (sofern vorhanden, Pflicht erst seit 1976) angelegt haben.

Firstly, all cars are bad. Obviously.
But if you really need a car, it had better be 100% battery powered. But not a Citroën Ami, please. Awful design, not cheap, eye-wateringly bad build quality (check YouTube). Let's not encourage Citroën to make any more.
Here's one I found on the street this week - they're *that* bad that the owner of this one has simply dumped it at the side of the road. It can't be more than two years old.

Anybody under the illusion that Chinese car manufacturers will fail because "European auto manufacturers have much more experience and therefore much better quality" need to have a look at this #CitroenAmi #fail.

Compare and contrast with the Chinese Geely Panda Mini. Same price (or cheaper). But, the Panda Mini has:
* Proper doors and windows. That fit.
* Much more power, range, top speed, stability, space and charging speed.
* An infotainment screen
* Back seats
* HatchbackIn every, single, way better than #Stellantis ' offer.

Oh my life. #Stellantis is doing Chinese car companies a MASSIVE favour. The Citroën Ami, FIAT Topolino and Opel Rocks-e - same car, different plastics. Same awful quality.
Just take a look at the welds in this video. Holy smoke! I, hand on heart, could do better with a stick welder. It seems as though the fundamental problem is that they can't make any two chassis anywhere near the same shape or size in their Morocco factory.

Many YT videos tell tales of awful build quality & ensuing breakdowns on the Citroën Ami.
How can such a simple car be made so awfully? The "Citroën touch!"
I was slightly tempted to buy one because the concept and price are good. It turns out that the execution is appalling.
Chinese brands now make better, cheaper cars with longer warranties than Citroën / Peugeot. I will be sorry for the job losses but otherwise delighted when PSA goes bust.
