Also been learning more about Ponting’s Prestwich Kinematograph cine camera, which used 35mm film in 300ft internal wooden magazines.
It was hand-cranked with two eight-frame-per-turn shafts and one single frame shaft. Truly a thing of beauty:

Again, spent several hours with this image in 'Rawtherapee&Darktable'. Neither package gets near the NEF/RAW result and only nearish with copious adjustments.
I may have to revert to both raw&jpeg in camera, to see the differences.
Mostly, processing darkens by 2 stops and flattens the life out of any lighting.
I'm getting the results in the Neg, but that's just not the case on conversion to jpeg. 📷👎 😎 Canon Reflex Zoom 8-2

Having spent several hours with this image in 'rawtherapee' this is as close as I can get to matching the colours, tones & definition of the NEF(RAW) file. It close-ish though not as I had worked for in getting the studio set-up how I wanted it. Ah well!
