Hoping the book is as good as the cover! A thoughtful gift from my son: a biography by Anne Strathie about Herbert Ponting, one of my favourite photographers and filmmakers.
Among many achievements, Ponting famously documented Captain Scott’s second Antarctic expedition to the South Pole in 1912.
The cover portrait shows Ponting at Cape Evans with his Prestwich Kinematograph cine camera.
