NWS Chicago:

".FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL COOK AND SOUTHEASTERN DUPAGE COUNTIES...

At 1223 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen thus far, with heavy rainfall still ongoing in the warned area. Flash flooding is occurring, and reports have been received of totally submerged viaducts and underpasses in the city of Chicago."

At 1005 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2
and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already
occurring.

HAZARD...Significant flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams,
drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage
areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding.
Possible flooding of structures. Possible flooding of
highways.
