Atmospherically it’s hard to achieve conditions more extreme than this in a winter storm.
70-80mph wind gusts coupled with extreme snowfall rates between 2-4” per hour.
Visibility near true zero in exposed areas. A generational blizzard for some.

Fri, November 22, 2024"Canada has been no stranger to weather bombs this season. British Columbia is in the midst of its second bomb cyclone in one week—another intense storm hitting the same areas affected by hundreds of thousands of power outages just days earlier.
"While B.C.’s second storm won’t grow as strong as the first, another storm out in the Atlantic Ocean could rival that first storm’s monstrous strength.
"Storm Bert is brewing in the northern Atlantic Ocean, and it’s got its eyes set on the British Isles heading into this weekend.
"The storm’s minimum central pressure is expected to drop a whopping 40-50+ mb in just 24 hours. This swift strengthening would more than double the criteria needed for bombogenesis, the process of rapid intensification that creates a bomb cyclone."

Storm report: Volt had a huge branch fall over the driveway, but miraculously is undamaged. Branch blew into the Z's rear window and broke it, so it's in the garage now. Seem to have made it through the storm otherwise ok. Tree people took care of the branch. May need to fix fence and we lost a tree and some ivy. Could have been a lot worse. News said Mt Umunhum hit 98mph (160 kph)!

The "Frostbite in 10 Minutes" zone in the US is quite large. Unsheltered individuals and outdoor animals are at the highest risk, they will perish (quickly) at those wind chill numbers.
