The National Weather Service just issued severe thunderstorm watch 610 until 10 pm for Lake and Newton counties.
I'm hoping we don't have storms, and if we do, they don't affect the ongoing power restoration efforts.

I went near Cleveland Cliffs in Burns Harbor today and came back on US 12 to go back into Miller via County Line Road.
A gas station across from the Ogden Dunes South Shore station was running on generator power. The gas station portion didn't have power inside the store, but the liquor store next door did to run debit transactions for the stores.
Tree cutters were working on clearing trees along side County Line Rd.

Driving on side streets in Gary means watching for downed power lines that have enough clearance for one car to pass by at a time. This video was from yesterday on the west side.
Power is still out in many places in Northwest Indiana. Power has come on in other places.
Crews are still working on restoring power.
The destruction is like having a hurricane roar through the Midwest.
