  5. #Stellantis CEO #CarlosTavares will leave in 2026.

The darling of the automotive industry, he revitalized #Peugeot, including the successful takeover of GM Europe, which became profitable almost immediately. Something GM had failed to do after 100 years.

In 2023, Stellantis was one of the most profitable automakers anywhere, beating BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, VAG, and Tesla.

Everything soured in 2024, especially in the 🇺🇸.

  6. @vwdasher hard to say. Cheap cars are a very tough market, and that is the market that #CarlosTavares of #Stellantis has assigned to the #Citroën brand.

The C3 looks amazing, but how does it feel to be in and drive?! 🤷‍♂️

Would Australians go for a #Dacia replacement from Citroën? 🤔

  7. @GottaLaff funny how AP describes #Stellantis as “Jeep maker”.

In the 🇺🇸, Stellantis represents Jeep, Dodge, RAM trucks and what’s left of Chrysler.

Overseas, they represent much more, having taken over GM’s 100 year loss making operations in Europe when they were still PSA (Peugeot Société Anonyme), and making them profitable within a single year.

#CarlosTavares is the new #CarlosGhosn of Renault-Nissan fame.

Hopefully, it ends better. Much better! 🤞 🍀 🙏

  8. @richardknott this is the vision of #CarlosTavares who recently stated that #Citroën had to be a budget brand for #Stellantis to compete directly with #Dacia, the budget brand from #Renault.

Maybe channelling the thinking behind the #2CV “people’s car”? 🤷‍♂️

  9. @SteveInVentura Tesla has only been making a profit since 2020. That profit has dropped to similar levels to other automakers in 2023. #Stellantis is currently more profitable. “Welcome to my world” opined #CarlosTavares a few months ago.

They have also abandoned the premium segment. Model S and X cars in 2023 represent less than 5% of the total.

    Tesla P/E = 60
    BMW P/E = 5
    MBZ P/E = 4
    Stellantis P/E = 3

So what is Tesla really worth?

    $212 today, or $20? 🤔

  10. @ukuku . Similarly #Stellantis is now led by #CarlosTavares, former CEO of #PSA. #Peugeot #Citroën and #DS are all offering designs that would be unexpected in the 🇺🇸. Blurring the lines between SUV, crossover and fastback station wagon designs.

He even made GM’s old European operation profitable after 100 years of losses — while promising properly affordable EV’s. We just don’t get this kind of approach on this side of the Atlantic.

  11. CW: Something from…

    @blingoali @DazzlingDamo I concur, Sir! 😊

P.S. for those of us not in Great Britain or Ireland, This is British, from the 1960’s I think. Made by what eventually became part of #ChryslerEurope, which was absorbed by #Peugeot, which is now part of #Stellantis. The Portuguese CEO of #PSA, #CarlosTavares, is now the CEO of Stellantis.
