there is exactly one thing I wanted at #cancon2025 I didn't get because I hesitated and it wound up missing when I went back for it, which was a $40 copy of Astro Knights. Astro Knights is normally a $99 game here in Australia, which is pretty notable a price dip.

I did also um and ahh about getting a Nisei starter set because hey, it looks cool. The thing that made me hesitate was not being able to play it with anyone either locally or via webcam yet. But maybe if I overcome that tech.

also I went to the bring-and-buy, a second hand version of the pit, which I was only there to pick up our unsold games and saw this mighty haul with a Saddest Short Story on it #cancon2025

Finally, #Cancon2025 has, as all cancons I've done did, The Pit, where Good Games put their ding and dent and remaindered stock in a great big heap and discount it heavily. There are signs indicating you should get games, and those signs get more unhinged as the weekend rolls on.

Here's the shirt I wore for the first con day, which I forgot about. Though I did get it mentioned and in fact, specifically, a few times parents came to me and thanked me for wearing it.

I have complicated feelings about it, in that I don't think I was doing anything remarkable because it was a well-agreed sentiment in the space. #cancon2025

After setup we went to Dickson Shops which I feel could be slightly better kerned for supplies (instant noodles, drinks, veggies and sandwich material) #cancon2025

Then we got to #cancon2025 and started setting up our stall. This isn't a picture of our stall, it's a picture of our neighbour's stall, because they are cool. They're called One Thousand Rats and they sell rad art, a cool game called Curses and Covens. They're neat to sit next to. #cancon2025

Also there was an Uggboot factory, which has these charming little fuzzy critters. Since my mastodon timeline is immensely improved with Jeff Minter's early morning sheep videos, things like this remind me of that. #cancon2025
