Posting this again because I think it's FUN
Challenge: Pick up two random RPGs from your shelf. Envision a setting or world that can support either/both.

Does your campaign setting have a "central conflict" or similar theme? I'm not talking about inciting incidents or the kickoff to an arc or adventure, but rather a recurring motif of clashing forces. Some settings have them front and center (like Middle Earth or Birthright) and others are more mosaic, with no looming central crisis (like Forgotten Realms or Traveller's Third Imperium). What's your stance on this? #ttrpg #rpg #worldbuilding #campaignsettings

TTRPG Creativity challenge: Grab two rule books from your shelf or e-shelf and pitch a setting that could support either.
For me: Trophy Dark and Hearts of Wulin.
I imagine a semi-decadent warrior clan society who live in the high places of a dark, foggy world. The Fog Below is considered cursed, lost land, littered with ruins and horrors. It’s also where the desperate and those who society has failed go on delves and adventures.

Fantasy and science fiction and science fantasy settings and so on are in their multitudes - but it's curious that there's a lack of "modern" settings. And I don't mean settings that take place in *our* modernity or a version thereof, but a wholly fictional one; for some reason, it seems we're more disposed to elaborate counterfactual worlds based on the past or the future rather than the present. #ttrpg #rpg #campaignsettings
