The "new" DokuWiki is now up and running at https://wiki.bsd.cafe. For the time being, it's nearly a direct copy of the old one. Let me know your thoughts and if all tests prove successful, I will open up registrations as soon as I have set up the initial sections.

Dear friends of BSD Cafe, Mastodon limits the number of options for polls to 4. Starting now, polls from BSD Cafe users can contain up to 10 options.

Dear friends of #BSDCafe, as promised a few weeks ago, this morning I activated the bridge between our Matrix instance and WhatsApp.

It seems to be working well (I had already tested it on another server), but It should still considered as beta. I still need to create a script to make it automatically restart on boot.

You can start using it and run some tests. To use it, you need to have an account on the BSD Cafe Matrix instance. The bot's address is @whatsappbot:bsd.cafe. Once you've opened the conversation, you can type "help" to get all the instructions.

To quickly get started, simply issue the "login" command and scan the QR code from your WhatsApp application on your smartphone, adding it as a connected device.

Within a few seconds (depending on the load and the number of conversations), your current conversations will start appearing as rooms (in a dedicated space to keep things organized).

ATTENTION, PLEASE: Unfortunately, due to how Matrix is structured, each conversation will appear as a contact request. If you ignore it, you won't see new messages from that contact, so you'll need to approve them all. It's inconvenient but necessary.

Friends of #BSDCafe and the #Fediverse, for the upcoming "feature drop" of BSD Cafe services, I've been considering:

1. Matrix bridge for Whatsapp and/or Telegram and/or other services (which would also be useful for me).
2. Vaultwarden - I've been using it for years and I'm satisfied with it. Registration would be open.
3. Something else that doesn't require too much implementation time since I'm quite busy these days.
