3 nights in Kyoto, Catherine Parker. After 2 nights in Osaka, we purchased tickets for the awesome bullet train from Osaka Shinkansen Station. This 40km route to Kyoto took only 13 minutes, and it is quite breathtaking. We got our phones out to check the speed, and it hit 280km per hour! Neon Lights and Local Bites: Two nights in Osaka, Japan.
Our flight from Jeju to Osaka was with T’way Air. As we were heading to South Korea for the first part of our trip, we thought it would make sense to explore surrounding countries. Flights to Japan and Vietnam from Korea are much cheaper than flights from the UK. All pre-booked and planned with the group we were travelling with, with a mix of accommodation from hotels to kominka style apartments. 1664 marks the foundation of the #brewery we now know as #Kronenbourg at #Strasbourg, #alsace. They named a beer after that year but don't reveal anything else, such as address, or biography of the founder Geronimus Hatt IV (never mind the previous 3 ancestors with the same name).

There are two breweries in #Oamaru... One has better beer (and tasty Belgian fries with mayo), the other one has more & better food options.
As the Belgian inspired one was closed and it was dinner time, it had to be Scotts aka the other brewery 😁
Their NZ #pilsner is hoppy and refreshing. Tasty combo with the pizza and loaded fries.

Does anyone have any Blonde ale beers they could recommend for me to try? My favorite is the Kona Light Blonde but it only comes in the variety pack where I live. The 508 is ok and the Leffe is too sweet and chewy like a stout or porter. I want something light and I don’t like IPA’s either.

While I'm not a fan of many of the disappointing buildings that came later on this huge site, it's still a huge improvement for the area.

A nice way to cap off the week. A Berliner Weisse from Dovetail Brewery in #Chicago. One of my favorite variety of beer from one of my favorite places in the city. Perfect for summer.
According to the promotional blurb, Napoleon’s troops called in the “Champagne of the North” when they marched through the Germanies.
This was was “mit schuss” or with blackberry bitters. One of the best drinks I have had in a long time!

Four consecutive, stupidly-long days of heavy and demanding #brewery labour means that I am #rewarding myself with a hot bath (it’s Winter where I am) loaded with Epsom Salt. There’s also 3.75g of medicated brownie and Ibuprofen helping me to unwind along with some of our Whale Played Red IPA.
Friends, this week has been ridiculously challenging. I really wish I had time to work on my #BonkWave or #NotBonkWave #FSOBW track.
