Boycotting Sinclair
Right wing affiliate TV station owners Sinclair and Nexstar continue their embargo of Jimmy Kimmel. What can you do to #BoycottSinclair?
Well it's sort of tough. Affiliates make money by retransmission fees from cable, satellite, and live TV streaming, so if you have one of these you're supporting them. (see TV in the USA >>> https://mastodon.online/@mastodonmigration/115261985305708087)
So, the easiest way is to cut the cord, cancel your cable service. Tell them it is because they carry Sinclair.

@mastodonmigration the issue is when you subscribe to the live tv service you still are watching your local channels. The feeds come from your local affiliates.
The only way to truly #boycottsinclair is to boycott their advertisers in each local market.

There are other amusement parks rebranded as theme parks. Stay away from Disney's. Take your kids to the beach. Maybe go to a college sporting event. They charge admission. It goes to benefit the college, not Disney. Not Sinclair. Or go to a park. Have a picnic. Play games in the snow. Get some board games. Get some video games. Don't pay for fascism. It's on us. Billionaires pay for *nothing* that isn't being lavished on themselves.
Fed-up mothers helped California farm workers by boycotting table grapes at a time when we didn't have these amazing supply chains bringing us produce from around the planet. We didn't eat grapes until Caesar Chavez claimed victory. Then we ate a lot of grapes.
We can do this. Flex your buying muscles by spending money elsewhere. Local businesses would love to meet you!
