Google was taking over phone way too much even though I had most Google programs & services disabled. Finely used Shizuku & ShizuTools to "uninstall" recommended apps via wireless debugging.

#Google secretly reactivated #Chrome on my #smartphone, which I had intentionally deactivated (unfortunately, I couldn't uninstall it because Chrome came preinstalled). It's an uncomfortable feeling that Google can perform any actions on my smartphone without my consent, and I can't prevent it—at least not through normal means.

Es kam eine setting Frage rein: Win 11 läuft in einer "gut ausgestattenen VM", ist dort genauso ressourcenfressend und lahm, wie zuvor auf der physischen Maschine.
Debian auf dem host ist genauso anspruchslos und flott, wie Debian, Mint oder cachyos als Gäste.
Es ist kein Äpfel-Birnen Vergleich 😉 auf meinen Laptop/Desktop(s) lief bis vor 2 Jahren Windows. Beruflich bin ich gezwungen Windows zu nutzen, habe den täglichen Vergleich.

Damn, just finished FINALLY removing McAfee from my wife’s new ACER laptop. Took downloading the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool from the firm’s website and then running it to get it done. Freaking #BloatWare that we didn’t ask for nor want. Kept redirecting my search to Yahoo, which my wife didn’t want either. Pain in the ass, it was.

Linux - wieder fällt auf, wie ressourcenschonend ein OS sein kann. Auf dem Notebook läuft der Debian Host + 2 virtuelle Debian Maschinen, eine mit 16 GByte eine mit 8. Auf den Guests nutze ich Office, Browser, Mailclient, Remote Desktop, es sind mehrere Programme geöffnet - Lüfter ist aus, Speicherbelegung lächerlich gering.
Unter #Windows 10/11 war das eine CPU & RAM zerreissende Ressourcenschlacht, Notebook immer am Limit, Lüfter auf 100%.

It’s actually unbelievable: just for fun, I decided to go through the entire Windows 11 installation process on my new MSI Cubi. Let’s see how it goes these days.
What can I say? Unbelievable! It took almost TWO HOURS just for the initial updates before I could even start setting it up! Are Microsoft’s servers that slow? The download took forever, not to mention the installations… And then the worst part: the pre-installed bloatware! Dozens of crappy third-party programs—and of course, they all want your data and a subscription… But Microsoft takes the cake: 22 (!!!) installations of Office 365 in the respective national languages! And each one is around 7 GB! That’s just 150 GB for a piece of junk software! And uninstalling each Office installation takes several minutes...
I’m going to stick with this crap anyway, just because I want to know how much of my life setting up Windows 11 with MSI’s bloatware is going to waste today. The day’s already gone to hell anyway.
