    Meet Mary Ann Shadd, journalist, activist was born in 1823 in Delaware to free parents who were conductors on the Underground railroad.

    She became the first Black woman in North America to run a newspaper, the Providential Freedom, after moving to Canad where she continued her activism for the freedom of enslaved Black folks in the US.

    What an amazing life!
