So waaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiitttttttttt, a Black sculptor creates a giant interactive statue that honors not just #MLK, but also #CorettaScottKing and *also* intends it to honor a message and other local #CivilRights leaders and it gets panned by *checks notes* a conservative columnist from the local conservative paper, the conservative wing of the King family and Bird App people? Ok.
My take? I love #TheEmbrace and its symbolism.

Will the new #MLK & #CorettaScottKing #memorial be an instant audience success because it represents MLK & Coretta in a figurative way without the inevitable disappointment and dissatisfaction that MLK portrait statues bring? (See Dell Upton's What Can & Can't be Said) It is a surprisingly (alarmingly?) weird sculpture but I need to see it in person and in situ.
