  1. Y'all...I was gonna have a quiet day..poke a paintbrush at a thing, bake some rye bread, make a cabbage roll...and then...I read about maga losing their damn minds about birthright citizenship.

Bespectacled suppository Sean Davis, head of The Federalist had a 7 point plan ranging from "sterilize all women entering the country" to "dissolve the union". So...yeah...he's a perfectly normal human, doing perfectly normal things.

Abandoned Victorian doll haunted by unrepentant nazis Stephen Miller said that people who didn't invent the wheel shouldn't be allowed in the country...which is so unhinged I don't even know what to do with it. (ctrl+f Miller in transcript)

Honestly ya'll, the lengths these cultists will go to massage Demented Daddy's ego is mind blowing.

They'll kill us all if we don't stop them.

  3. CW: Impeachment of Supreme Court Justices

    Interesting opinion piece.

Why, indeed, should those who disregard the text of the Constitution be entrusted with ensuring the Constitution is not violated?

Supreme Court justices can be impeached. Perhaps it's time for a demonstration of this fact.

  4. I do love this little detail: Trump 'against' birthright citizenship.

#Balogun is only eligible to play for the U.S. men’s team because he is a birthright citizen, after an airline in 2001 denied his British citizen mother from boarding a flight home because she was too close to giving birth to him, and then gave birth in Brooklyn.

Re: Donald Trump’s intervention in the 2026 FIFA World Cup to help get Balogun’s red-card suspension overturned.

  6. Sarah Smith, on #BBCNews as seen via U.S. PBS, opined that only another Amendment could overturn the #14thAmendment re: #birthright citizenship, apparently didn't pick up on the loophole the 14th Amendment provided for those Justices which opined that Congress indeed had a work-around for that. The loophole is where it mentioned "subject to the jurisdictions thereof", which puts any given jurisdiction as superior to the birthright that the Amendment granted. Stephanie...didn't catch the rest of her titles...Georgetown? ...the subsequent expert...didn't spend enough time addressing this loophole, either.

  10. Well that's weird. The Roberts SCOTUS upheld the Constitution in the birthright citizenship case? That's got to be a mistake, right?

Howlin' MAGAts will demand all 6 heads, I suppose? Trump and Miller will join forces for a ketchup throwing rage.

  12. The US Supreme Court has voted to uphold the principle of #BirthRight citizenship as laid out in Section 1 of the #USConstitution's 14th amendment

Yet three Justices: Thomas, Gorsuch, and Alito, have manged to dissent from the ruling. Justice Thomas suggested that the amendment referred to Black Americans.

It seems that a straight forward reading of constitutional text is no longer the operating philosophy for those who refer to themselves as conservatives

My family might still be able to live in the country I did not choose, but embraced and *served*. My children won't have to be displaced from the only homeland they have ever known.

Now, onto the the rest of the attempted christofascist ethnonaZionalist take over of America.

  16. #Citizenship #Birthright . . .

    In a 6-3 split vote, the #SCOTUS upheld birthright citizenship under the 14th A to the #Constitution. . . .

Still shaking my head because it wasn't a unanimous decision. 🤷‍♂️

You can read a copy of the decision as published here:

  17. How sad it is that we are celebrating today a 6-3 decision by #SCOTUS on #Birthright #Citizenship - something that is explicitly spelled out in the Constitution and should not even be up for debate!

And the three so-called "justices" that dissented... well, we knew you were fascist puppets that were in the tank for a US dictatorship, but thanks for confirming it for all of us in such clear and unambiguous terms.

  20. "The Weaponization of Belonging

The fundamental lesson from the #history of #Jewish #citizenship in #America is that #legal categories are neither self-evident nor self-executing. They are #political instruments, subject to intense scrutiny and sudden revision during periods of national anxiety.

As the #SupremeCourt prepares to issue its ruling in 2026, the historical record serves as a stark warning. When a government asserts the authority to define who is and is not a #citizen based on parental origin, it invariably opens the door to the systemic #disenfranchisement of #minority populations. The debate over #birthright citizenship is not merely a legal technicality; it is a battle over the soul of the nation and the fundamental definition of human belonging."

  22. The supreme court is expected to render at least one judgment today
as the term is set to come to an end later this month.

There are a series of cases yet to be decided that are relevant to Donald Trump,
including his attempt to limit #birthright citizenship
and plan to remove legal protection from Haitian and Syrian #immigrants.

Generally, terms last between October and late June
    – but the most significant cases are often left until the end of the term.

There are two main immigration-based decisions yet to be made.
💥One pending ruling is on Trump’s desire to ban birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants and those whose parents are temporary residents.
“Birthright citizenship is one of America’s most consequential commitments
    – the idea that where you are born, not where your parents came from, determines your belonging to this nation,”
said Adam Strom, executive director and co-founder of
    "Reimagining Migration", in The74.
“For the millions of immigrant-origin children in our schools, this isn’t an abstraction. It’s the ground they stand on.”

💥The court also has a case that will decide if the US can terminate the Temporary Protected Status that has allowed Haitian and Syrian immigrants to live and work in the country.

Other significant cases include Trump’s wish to fire a member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors.

*this* is why christian zionists support getting rid of #birthright #citizenship and denying retroactively the citizenship of generations of USA americans: their fever dream of the apocalypse involves “resettlement” of USA jews into the “greater Israel”; one which machiavellian zionists are willing to build thru genocide.

this explains why israeli zionists are in bed with what is, at its core, an antisemitic christofascist movement.
