Bummer. I woke up past 5AM and realized that today's my city's #bike event where they take people to the parks and landmarks and to that lively food street. Must be a nice tour. And there's a bike raffle for those who visit all the stops. But rideout time was 6AM, plus my bikes both have just enough charge for a little exercise ride and commute to/from church. I definitely need battery power for a ride like that. We're not flat and level here like Amsterdam.

In Summer 2016, my host, after I had bicycled several miles that day on my Underground Railroad Bicycle Tour, convinced me to go to an outdoor concert celebrating W. C. Handy and it was great! Such a good time with great music and everyone having a good time. I was exhausted but it it was *so* worth it.

I never got to go to the W.C. Handy events in Northwest Alabama, so it was a pleasure.

I made a #cannier this weekend! Bought a nifty little kit at https://rackhackers.com/ , had some email-conversations with Andras on how to make it work for my rack and scavenged some jerrycans at our local fire station.
It's big, it's sturdy and waterproof. A nice #upcycling project, at a fraction of the price of an Ortlieb bag.

Tomorrow, I'll take off for a modest combined train&bicycle trip around N Europe (11 days). I'd be happy to make a thread with some photos and practical details.

A potential downside of their service is that they seem to only provide individual #bicycletour roadmaps for #Belgium, i.e. if you live there or plan to visit it. Probably because they build on the https://welcometomygarden.org/ garden camping network for people do #slowtravel i.e. cycle or hike.

Did a #BicycleTour with the #Brompton from #Locarno up the #Verzasca valley to #Sonogno yesterday. I rode 65km and made over 800m difference in altitude. (I used e-assist for the heaviest inclines up to the #VerzascaDam where the #JamesBond #007 #GoldenEye #bungeejump opening scene was filmed.) The GPS said pure riding time was 4h14m. Started around 14:00 and arrived back at the campervan around 22:00. On my way back I stopped at a pizzeria in Locarno where the kitchen was still open after 20:00

Did a #BicycleTour on the #Brompton from #Locarno up the #Centovalli to the Swiss-Italian border. 44.5km overall distance and about 500m difference in altitude. (Actually the #Garmin GPS said 448m up and 517m down despite start and end were at the same spot. 🙄)

For some reason after the rainy bicycle tour up half the Maggia valley the day before, my #Velogical #Velospeeder e-assist no more wanted to work (maybe contact issues, need to check) so I'm sure this was all "acoustic" muscle power. 😇
