  1. On Friday, following our #BBCPanorama on #MetPolice Charing Cross, a 9th officer's behaviour was found to have amounted to gross misconduct.

The IOPC is also now investigating other officers following our footage & a wider witness appeal.

  2. If you haven't watched tonight's #BBCPanorama, please watch on iPlayer. It's about Steven Rosenberg, the BBC's superb, and very brave, Russia correspondent. He does a superb job.

  3. Jonathan Cook: This Time the BBC Chose the Wrong Target
    consortiumnews.com/2025/11/13/
Heads have rolled at the BBC, but not due to a journalistic blunder – it makes them all the time. It foolishly deferred to the billionaires in the political battle over image-laundering: where to direct the hate. By Jonathan Cook…

  4. Anyways, the Met is rotten to its core. Burn it all down and start fresh.

  5. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

The undercover reporter says the people on the job didn’t trust him and he was still able to gather all this evidence.

How much worse would he have seen if they actually trusted him?

  6. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

Three years ago, the Met Police was put into special measures because it was ‘failing to meet basic policing standards’.

That ended this January because the Inspectorate says it has improved.

Don’t worry though. Between the filming of this and when it aired, Sgt Joe McIlvenny was back at work.

    Hooray.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  8. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

Interestingly, it sounds like Sgt Joe McIlvenny was removed from frontline duties before they finished filming this because members of British Transport Police made a complaint after JM told a female member of the public
she should consider taking up sex work (because she was Asian).

Inspector Jim Morris is JM’s boss. He feels bad for poor JM. He thinks it’s not fair.

  9. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

The Met says it has taken ‘immediate and unprecedented action. Eight officers and one staff member have been suspended. And another two officers have been removed from frontline duties.’

Apparently they’ve ‘dismantled the custody team at Charing Cross, made changes to local leadership, and [are] looking more broadly at other Met detention teams.’

But remember. They knew about all this three years ago.

Side note, I wonder where PC Phil Neilson was on the weekend of the big racist march a few weeks ago.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  11. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

PC Phil Neilson wants to ‘put a bullet through the head’ of visa overstayers.

He wants to have guns so he can shoot ‘the ones that shag women’ in the cock and let them bleed out.

He says shag first, then changes it to rape. But, basically, he wants to be able to murder Brown people who have sex with women he believes he’s entitled to.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  12. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

PC Phil Neilson says he likes Ukrainians. But he says Middle Eastern and North African people are ‘scum’. He says it’s literally an invasion.

Then he says ‘any foreign person is the worst to deal with.’

I’m sure he’d be the first to say he ‘doesn’t mean’ me; they always tell me that. But, yes, I would be the worst for him to deal with. And yes, I would take pride in that.

  13. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

Retired Chief Constable Sue Fish is speechless.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  14. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

A female officer arrests a man who’s assaulted his pregnant partner, kicking her in the belly and potentially leaving a boot print on her belly.

Sgt Joe McIlvenny releases the man. The female officer isn’t happy. She reminds him what the guy did. JM states blankly before saying ‘That’s what she said.’ Then he shrugs.

    She isn’t happy.

  15. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

In February 2022, the Independent Office of Police Complaints published a report into the racism, misogyny, bullying, and more at this same police station.

Now we can see what’s changed since then.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  16. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

PC Phil Neilson meets the undercover reporter at the pub, but admits he’s reluctant to do so because he thinks the reporter is actually working for Professional Standards.

He then proceeds to tell the reporter about the ways in which he deliberately inflicts pain on detainees he doesn’t like. That’s assault on a minor.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  17. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

A disabled, unarmed teenager in custody throws a *pillow* at officers. Eight officers pile onto him and restrain his arms and legs for 2h as a result.

PC Phil Neilson brags about deliberately inflicting pain on the kid.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  18. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

Sergeant Steve Stamp (aka Stampy) uses his boots to stamp on detainees, causing significant injury.

PC Martin Borg finds it hilarious.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  19. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

PC Martin Borg brags about cutting a man’s clothes off him while he was in custody.

The reporter finds video of the event. The detainee ends up in his cell naked.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  20. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

An unnamed officer brags about using his baton to beat an unarmed and restrained man in the back of a police transport van. He uses the phrase ‘red mist’ to describe his actions.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  21. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

An unnamed officer brags about trying to break people’s fingers while fingerprinting them.

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  22. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

Sue Fish is about as impressed as you might imagine.

She says it’s supposed to be the minimum force necessary, ‘not the maximum you think you can get away with.’

    #BBCPanorama #MetPolice

  23. CW: Met police on BBC Panorama

Afterwards, Sgt McIlvenny takes the reporter out of range of CCTV and tells him not to mention the use of force in his official report or else there might be a complaint.

He laughs as he says all this.

Sgt Joe McIlvenny seems like good fun. Sorry, I mean, he seems like he thinks he’s good fun.

There's a bad bad time lying ahead, as the powerful have a new tool for manipulating the uniformed/gullible. Seems clear to me, that publishers/platforms must be held to account in some way.

  31. Watching the BBC Panorama episode about the Post Office Horizon IT Scandal, I feel so so sorry for those who got caught up in an awful buggy system, and especially to those who took their own lives because of it.

For anyone who is a software developer, please watch the documentary. You need to realise that the software you write can actually impact people in *negative* ways.
