Ich habe ich ein kleines E-Ink-Display gebaut, das direkt neben meiner Haustür hängt und mir live Bus- und Bahnabfahrten für meinen Weg zur Arbeit anzeigt. Jeden Morgen verlasse ich das Haus, fahre mit dem Bus zum Bahnhof und von dort aus zu immer wechselnden Kundenstandorten. Ich könnte vor dem Losgehen auf mein Handy schauen, aber meistens vergesse ich das – und bin dann überrascht, wenn ein Bus oder Zug verspätet oder ausfällt.
Dieser Monitor löst das Problem für mich: Das Display ist immer sichtbar, wenn ich zur Tür rausgehe, also sehe ich die aktuellen Abfahrtszeiten auf einen Blick. Kein Handy mehr rausholen, keine Anschlussverbindungen verpassen, keine Überraschungen.
Es ist batteriebetrieben und basiert auf einem Lilygo T5 4,7"-E-Ink-Display mit ESP32-S3, eingebaut in ein selbst entworfenes 3D-gedrucktes Gehäuse. Die Firmware wurde von Grund auf neu speziell für dieses Projekt entwickelt. Sie verbindet sich mit der lokalen VRR-ÖPNV-API, holt Echtzeit-Abfahrtsdaten für meine Bushaltestelle und den nahegelegenen Bahnhof, aktualisiert tagsüber alle zwei Minuten und schläft nachts, um Strom zu sparen. Das E-Ink-Display verbraucht Energie nur beim Aktualisieren, sodass es mit einer einzigen Akkuladung sehr lange läuft.

Three friends an I are going to see Chappel Roan later this week in Queens. I like her pink pony club, and have been making a variety of pink ponies lately.
I decided to make some tiny pink "pony"s that the four of us could wear as necklaces to the concert. They also could be clipped onto hats. I got the tiniest 6mm blue phosphor glass I could get my hands on and filled them to just 8 torr neon (normally 18torr at this size) so they are nice an conductive an the battery lasts longer. Pure neon fill- so I can fix em if they break.
I do have to double check the rules of forest hills. I guess I could lie an say they are LEDs :). One of my friends requested a heart tiara (I think the tour has hearts in its theme) so I made two lil ones filled for battery life :).
I sure hope we can dance with the neon as a pink pony club :)

Can I ask what brand of snowblower you bought? My 17 year old gas snowblower has reached its end unless I spend alot of money on it, which seems silly. Why not get battery powered and put the money toward that .... #snow #batteryPowered -
I #tried to #repair one of my #batterypowered step lights. The #batteries were always #empty after two days. While #measuring, I noticed that the defective one has an internal #resistance of about 7kOhm, while the others have over 20MOhm. After opening and locating, I found a defective #SMD #capacitor.
I #simply #removed it and #tested if it still works. It turns on automatically with motion, just not off anymore. #lol
At least now I know what the capacitor was used for.
