We, the inhabitants and the citizens of the Union and the Union institutions, are destined to use English. A short text on the use and the future of English in the Union. The text is in Czech. I know that only 3% of the inhabitants or citizens of the Union understand Czech. But it is a part of the point. Use a translator or ask for help 🙂

Evropská unie je mezinárodní organizací svrchovaných států podobně jako jiné takové organizace, zejména podobně jako organizace Spojených národů.
A to přesto, že ve své sebe-správě Unie používá prvky, které používají svrchované federativní státy,
A to přesto, že se Unie nějak podobá velkým svchovaným států, jako jsou Indie, Čína, Spojené státy, Rusko...
A to přesto, že posouvání Unie směrem k tomu, aby se více a více stávala svrchovaným státem / podobala svrchovanému státu, je (naprosto přípustným) politickým programem jisté části Unie.
Navrhuju, abychom o Unii mysleli, cítili a mluvili jako o mezipatře mezi Českem a Spojenými národy.
Unie svrchovanost Česka neumenšuje. Naopak: ustanovuje, stvrzuje, umocňuje.
Nejsem si jist pojmem "evropská identita", ale moje láska Unii a moje láska k Česku se nijak nevylučují a neomezují. Naopak: vzájemně se posilují. (Láska se neodečítá, láska se násobí.)
Jazyky jsou důležité. V Unii máme "Zmatení jazyků - #BabelEU". To je i potíží i bohatstvím. Jsem přesevědčen, že se v Unii vůbec nemáme pokoušet o něco podobného, o co se pokoušela chybná a mylná teorie tzv. "národních států". Nemáme se vůbec pokoušet o nějaký jednotný unijní jazyk, jehož užívání by mělo spojováno s příslušností nebo s láskou k Unii.

In addition to the 27 Member States, which is an exciting complication in itself, we have 24 official and many unofficial languages in the Union.
I am quite deliberately avoiding the word /concept(?) "nation" that may come to some minds when one encounters the pair of state + language. In English, the confusion between "nation" and "state" is even built right into the language. If someone must speak with me about nation, please, do it in a different thread / place.

It's complicated, it's complicated, it's complicated. And it's a great asset to the Union. For now, I'd just stick with a reminder that we have this phpBB topic-thread "Zmatení jazyků - #BabelEU", introduce the #tg286917386 tag for exploration of the Union-wide language confusion, boaste that I'd thought about it a bit, and based on that, descend to the level of the @pgcd + @tymoty + @Veza85UE + @xChaos conversation. For which topic I introduce the #tg251863604 tag.
My proposal to our small European council (pgcd + tymoty + Veza85UE + xChaos) is that each of us uses their primary language for writing (German + Czech + Spanish + Czech) and that each of us uses an automatic translation tool of their choice for reading. If necessary.

I understand the Universe through words. A grasp of a language gives a perspective to a culture otherwise out of reach. We, the inhabitants and the citizens of the European Union, live in the situation of many languages, for example Czech, Finnish, Swedish. And there is English which is much more than just one in many languages of the Union.
I believe that we should take care of the direct relations between the communication...
