These gold coins are from my grandfather. My maternal grandparents, Pontic Greeks, were refugees from Turkey in early 1920's. He died at age of 105 & what little he had was converted to British gold coins - 2 have Queen Victoria & 1 has King Edward as heads & St George as tails.
I'm sharing coin pics because I've been researching Greeks who came from Anatolia (Turkey). I went to Bafra, Turkey in 2000 (this is where my grand parents came from) looking for people who may be connected with them. Below, after the coins is an excerpt from first page of book I'm writing about that experience.
