The Australian Soldiers were on a train moving North to fight the Japanese. The #usasoldiers were on a train coming South. They met North of Brisbane. The US soldiers jeered the Australian soldiers that they were going to take all the Australian woman when they got to #Brisbane. The Australian soldiers had machine guns on their train.
My dad said you will never read about it but many US soldiers were killed that day.
Another story was how the Black US soldiers were never allowed North in Brisbane, they had to stay to the south side. I asked why but he couldn’t tell me. My grandfather was a regular during WW2 and was stationed in Queensland at one point, he must have told him the story.
