Good morning Fedi friends. Very warm & humid out, I may as well be in QLD 😬. It’s 22c this morning & 85% humidity, it’s getting up to 30c today & with rain still around will remain yuk & humid. The storm yesterday evening was very mild in comparison to Sunday & caused no issue, just a good light show in the early evening & thankfully no flooding. In fact it seems to have cleaned up a few areas around my place a little 🙂. Happy for that.
Slept much better last night, my head is in a better space still a little rattled & fuzzy brained & just a little overwhelmed but bit by bit I’m working through it. Yoga based balance class is on the agenda this morning to help me deal with the day.
I’ll be taking a number of items to the op shop & have decided to get rid of a lovely deck chair I have stored in the garage & rarely use. I like it, but no point if I don’t use it. So I’ll add that to the load already in the car. Plus a couple of wooden planter boxes I was given, never used because nothing fitted in them. I do like clean outs. Then off to Bunnings. I have a hanging flyscreen on the door from the laundry to the garage & it’s become quite damaged over the years & I’m replacing it & I also need some hooks to hang the new one. As the door is wider than average, I need to think outside the box a bit.

Good morning Fedi friend. Awake early again, a very humid night & 21c when I got up at 6am, heading to a warm 31c.
I wasn’t planning on taking the dogs for a walk today after all the rain yesterday. Changed my mind though (my prerogative 😁) & was dressed & out of the door before 6.30am & it was still dark, cloudy & muggy. The walk was good though, if a bit damp & in one street on the way home - heaps of little midges that got stuck on the back of my sweating neck. At least I didn’t inhale or breath any in 🤣.
The picture of the lichen I came across on a number of trees & shrubs is amazingly striking after all the rain. It’s beautiful.
I’ve nearly finished my breakfast 🍳 ☕️ & am about to shower & then pack up, clean up & head home. I have to admit to being a little nervous as to what I might find at my place after the huge rainstorm that swept the state yesterday. If there’s a problem, I’ll find a way to deal with it. I just hope 🤞🏼there isn’t. I never used to worry about that type of thing ever & I hate that it’s always in the back of my mind now whenever there’s heavy rain.

Good morning tooters. It was 20c when I got up today, double what it was yesterday morning & today we’re supposed to get to 29c with rain to come, but as I well know that doesn’t always happen. Up, dressed & out of the door with the dogs by 6am again & it is a lovely morning today.
Home again & it involves getting breakfast for the dogs, then the cat & finally the chooks - then I can make my own, wholemeal crumpets with butter & Vegemite- yummy & which I’m now finishing along with a coffee.
I came across an apple tree while walking that was laden with red apple’s & leaning over the fence, so I picked one - I want one of these apple trees, delicious & a gorgeous pink inside. The garden it was in also had persimmons, quinces & an almond. There was probably more but I definitely focused on the apple.
I’m off for a shower & will then take another walk to catch up with my friend who lives not far away.

Good morning tooters. Quite a warm night here in Chiltern, but a very cool start to my day. I was awake early, not that I wanted to be but my body couldn’t agree with my brain. I managed to stay in bed until there was some light appearing in the sky just before 6am, then up & dressed, leads on the dogs & out of the door for a walk & it was a very cool 10c here. The sky may have been getting light, but the sun was nowhere near up. Even the rabbits weren’t out, did notice some plovers in the gloom of the park.
It was a lovely walk though & by the time I got near to Anderson park lake, which is nearly empty of water, I started to see rabbits & after going through the reserve there was a mob of kangaroos next to the local footy ground. By the time I was around 10mins from home the sun was finally starting to appear.
It’s going to get to a very hot 37c today & I have to go into town this afternoon for dinner out with the family. I was thinking of heading home to water the garden, but I think everything will be ok as I well watered yesterday morning & apparently rain is forecast tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼.

Good morning tooters. It was a warm humid night last night & I kept the aircon on until nearly 4am 🫤. It did guarantee me a half decent sleep though & when I got up just before 6am it was still 24c. Today the high won’t be too bad reaching 31c it’s quite pleasant outside. All the doors & windows are open & there’s a very light breeze around & today is still quite cloudy.
I haven’t watered yet, but the humidity would have kept things damp’ish anyway. I will do that job when I get home from the pool later this morning. I have double checked the weeks program & the lane availability & all lanes are open yaaay. So I’ll be on my way there in less than half an hour. Really looking forward to that lovely cool water as well.

Good morning Fedi friends. A lovely cool 12c when I got up this morning, it’s going a be a fair bit warmer today reaching 35c so I expect the aircon will go on later this afternoon. For now though I’m enjoying having these cooler mornings. The next couple of days will be warmer still but not like last weeks shocking heat.
I slept remarkably well considering I nana napped yesterday only waking twice. I must have needed it. The tens machine seems to have sorted out my back for the most part, but now I have sore ribs for some reason - go figure 🤷🏼♀️, I have no idea why! No problem, it’ll go soon enough I guess. Maybe I’ll try the tens machine again later today if it lingers. This getting old business certainly isn’t for sissies!
Heading to the pool this morning for a swim & due to school swimming carnivals this will be the only day I’ll get to go unfortunately. Not planning much more than that for today though. Anyway, time to get organised for the pool.

Good morning tooters. A bit late for my morning spiel, I was up at 6am & sitting drinking a cup of tea & suddenly decided I wanted to go for a walk - so I did. It feels like such a long time since I’ve I’ve done so. So before 8.30am I’d walked 6km, posted a birthday card & gone to the supermarket for milk. Then home for breakfast, a big coffee & watering the garden.
It was 13-14c when I got up & today we’re heading to an ok 30c, easy to deal with.
I still haven’t had a shower & am still in lycra because I had thought I might mow, but I’m just a wee bit stiff in the legs now 😬, I need that shower. So I’ll leave mowing until later in the week. No big deal but I do intend to mulch the veg garden again. Not much else will be done today though.

Good morning tooters. What a wonderful solid sleep last night, only rousing to pull up the blanket. It was around 10c last night, great big satisfying stretches have been enjoyed & I’m breakfasted & had my coffee. This morning is absolutely beautiful, the sun is up but it’s not bitey at all & it’s actually going to be under 30c today reaching 29c. Today will again be a no aircon day - 2 in a row - woohoo - lovely!
I haven’t even watered yet, I feel I have time for once. I’ll do it after a full balance class to set me up for the day. My daughter is coming up for lunch today, so I’m going to make us both a cheese 🧀 omelette with grilled tomatoes 🍅.
This afternoon I have a dentist appointment, through the public health system but at a private dental clinic that works with them. I broke part of a tooth & it’s going to be fixed & cost to me is only $32 - gotta love that. It’s not the first time for this tooth & I try very hard to hang onto my old person teeth, but damage keeps happening.

Good morning Fedi friends. Well that was one warm night & one more hot day & night to go. It was 26c when I woke up just after 6am, opened up & turned off the aircon. It won’t be off for too long though as at 9am now it’s already hit 31c & will reach 43c as its last hurrah. So I’ll be shutting up again shortly & probably have the aircon fan on for a little while before I need it on cooling. I have my washing out & that won’t take long to dry & will do all my towels for the same reason after I’m showered & ready for my day.
I’ve found out what those little birds are that have been flitting around my garden at dawn. They’re New Holland Honeyeaters & very cute. There seems to be an awful lot of them around here atm.
Not going anywhere today, nor doing very much at all except for some general housework but that’s it for today really.

Do you know what I’m looking forward too more than anything - it’s being cool enough to have the windows & doors open & not be too hot or too cold. That beautiful in between times. When you can work outside, go for a walk, go for a swim or just enjoy being outdoors or indoors for that matter - & at the moment I’m really hanging out for autumn. #AussieSummer #HeatWave.

I think the way things are going up here that the aircon will be on every night this week until the early hours. I’ve realised though that the humidity increases in the evening so I can turn the aircon over to 💧 mode, which is a different almost fresher type of cool for the night & costs less in electricity - or so I’ve been told by those in the know. TBH, I don’t care at the moment, I need to be cooler to sleep & as I wake in the early hours anyway. I can turn it off if the temp has dropped. #AussieSummer #HeatWave #BloodyAwful

I’m really tired & want to got to bed. It’s only 9.30 so am going to try to hold out until at least 10pm otherwise I’ll be awake well before dawn. Which might not be a bad thing because although 18c is forecast for overnight, it’s still 36c at the moment & I don’t think it’ll be 18c until it’s damned near dawn anyway. Safe to say the aircon will stay on all night & I haven’t decided quite yet whether I sleep in my bed or on the lounge. I might just wait & see as my bed is definitely first preference.
Still no power on at my son’s place & it isn’t expected to come on again until 4am although hopefully that will change. I did offer to have the kids but phone connection is also patchy. One granddaughter I’ve heard is staying at her brothers place in town though. So other things may also have been worked out@for,everyone else. #HeatWave #AussieSummer #PowerOutage. -
Good morning tooters. A beautiful cool start to the day at 14c, the sun wasn’t quite up over the hills, but the birds are awake & so are the dogs next door 🫤. Going to be a hot 🥵 37c & unfortunately that’s the best it’ll be for a whole week as we start another heat wave.
My garden was well watered & the washing done & hung out by 6.30am & apart from picking up my cheese from friends mid morning - my jobs are done for the day. The house is clean & tidy & the garden & birdbaths are dealt with. I think I should do some form of exercise class otherwise my backside might get a bit sore from all the sitting it’s going to get over the next week whilst hiding from the heat. I’m also re-thinking about going swimming next week & instead going for pre dawn walks. Swimming is slow for me, even though I love it, it’ll be hot by the time I’m finished. Going for walks I can go before dawn & be home by 8am. Decisions will be made which way to go on the day I think.

It’s still 41c here & in Wodonga - 25c overnight.
I’m trying to decide whether or not it to head back home tomorrow morning & give my garden another watering, or risk it & leave it until Saturday. I did water it very well today & it’s all been well watered for a few days. So I’d like to think all will be ok. I guess if things burn they can be replaced, but I hate the thought of it.

Finally been able to lift the blind outside the sliding glass door & check the garden. Still very hot out there, but the sun is going down. The BOM it’s still 35c, the sensor on glass beside the outside door says 29c. If it gets below 26c I’ll know I can open up. I’ll wait & see.
Everything seems fine & there’s even water still in the birdbaths which is good. It’s what I noticed when I checked the Dogwood though that really made my day - baby ladybirds 🐞 nestling inside the young leaves. Keeping cool 🤷🏼♀️, who knows. #HeatWave #AussieSummer #Ladybirds. -
Blehhhh - it’s just passed the 40c mark.
I’ve never gone away anywhere when it’s so hot & tomorrow I’m in Chiltern for 4 days. Thinking how to leave my little unit & I think I’ll leave the windows open a little & all the blinds almost down. That’ll let some air in & out. G’day Fedi friends. I was up & out the door by 6am & starting my walk by 6.15am, just shy of dawn & it was 19c then - 41c 🥵 is the yukky forecast for today.
I was pretty warm by the time I finished about an hour later & 5km done. It was lovely out there, I saw lots of cows 🐄, two adolescent kangaroos 🦘 having a box, but too far away to photograph, lots of little grass parrots & fairy wrens but luckily no danger noodles 🐍.
I’m only just starting my breakfast after giving the garden a good watering. That’s pretty much me done for the day unless doing some washing counts! I also need to prepare for going back to Chiltern tomorrow for 4 days.

The sun has just finally gone down behind the horizon & I’ve pulled up the outside blind & gone to check my plants. The smaller yellow tomato plant looks a little sad, but everything else is good. I can’t open up yet & may keep the aircon fan & my bedroom fan on all night, but for tonight it’ll be ok & doors & windows will be open.

Good morning tooters. Had a nearly 8hr sleep last night despite it being a bit warm. It was 22c when I got up & today that was nearly 7am. We had some lovely rain last night & everything is nice & damp outside, no need to water. We’re supposed to get to 35c with rain, but I can’t see anything on the radar in this area so far, that could easily change though.
I have been mooching a bit this morning but have done a couple of loads of washing, putting necessary things on the clothes horses just in case I need to bring it in quickly. I don’t need to do much today but will be visiting some friends that live nearby this afternoon for a Christmas cuppa. I also want to go to the grocers that stock the best sourdough bread available here. I could make some, but it’s too hot for that right now. I’m thinking of having a hiatus for a few months. I’ve dried some of my starter with a view to doing just that.

Good morning tooting friends. What a hot night. I had to leave the aircon & ceiling fans on for circulation on which made sleeping bearable & I did sleep. I woke up at around 1am, got up to see if turning off the aircon was an option. Outside was still like a warm bath & it was just a smidge under 30c still 😩. I finally got up just before 6am & was an ok 23c & I could open up & turn off the aircon. It’s now grey & over cast & rain is supposedly coming which will make the 30c forecast for today a little humid, but bearable & I’m hoping for some cooling wind🤞🏼. I’m tempted to water the garden still, but might wait for late afternoon in case the rain does arrive.
The first week of this Aussie Summer started at 18c & thunderstorms with hail. The week has ended with high heat & more rain 🤷🏼♀️.
Made myself a chilli & cheese omelette for breakfast today, my fave Saturday treat & it was definitely cheesy & delicious.
Driving out to Barnawartha today to visit my son & the family. It’s been around a month since I’ve been able to go out there due to one thing or another. I’ll be interested in seeing how everything is going in their new home plus I do want to see my grandkids of course.

Here we go again. Hot day, my aircon is on still but the thunder & lightning ⛈️ ⚡️ has started along with the rain 🌧️ & the temp is dropping. From 32c it’s down to 24c in half an hour & pouring rain 🌧️. I don’t know how much is in it, but I’m not complaining. #Weather #AussieSummer

Happy weekend tooting friends. I’ve had a really busy & tiring week, I have a program of three different circuit exercise routines to do at the gym & wanted to do them all to see how I went but I also wanted to get some swimming in. That plus an appointment, helping my older sister & my Vinnies day made for a very full week. Yesterday though I overdid it, circuit training in the morning, picked up my sister & took her to her cardiac rehab, home for lunch then a friend rang & asked if I’d come with her to the pool. It was too much in one day for me, I felt very muscle tired but also wheezy & chesty last night. Happens occasionally during hot weather, but the pool has something to do with it too. I’ve learnt my lesson, slower pace next week - but I have to say that despite how I felt last night, I thoroughly enjoyed the week - I just need to be more mindful. #AussieSummer #Swimming #Exercise #Healing

Such a good active day today. First up was a Les Mills Thrive class here at home. Then I dropped down to my sons house followed by my daughters place to take them some of my never ending zucchinis. They got 2 each & I have 2 myself. Then took myself off to the pool for my swim & I’m very pleased, I did 500 metres last time - this time I did 750 metres. I’m very slow but I did it. I’ll be rapt when I get to 1km 😃. It was very hot out when I left at 1pm so the aircon has been on all afternoon. Should be a coolish night though 🤞🏼. These are the days I enjoy l

The only saving grace for is that the nights are relatively cool, I leave the sliding door to the back open & the breezes come in to assist my ceiling fan, so sleeping is pretty good. Good morning my tooting pocket friends. Isn’t 6am quite dark now, the seasons are changing.
It’s Vinnies day today & I have to drop my car in to get new brakes on my way in. So I’ll be walking the last 1-2km. Then back again to pick the car up at lunchtime. This will be the most walking I’ve done in a long time, so hope my knee holds up 🤞🏼. I have faith in my capability though. It’s a lovely cool morning heading to 31c this afternoon although the times I’ll be walking will be relatively pleasant.

Good morning tooters. It’s going to be another hot one, heading for 37c, but wind & rain forecast which will make it unpleasant. It’s super quiet around home right now, I can hear the light swish of the ceiling fan & some distant traffic, but apart from crickets outside - so quiet. No birds chirping, nor using the birdbath. I’ve done all the things I wanted to do today, just have to blanch the beans I picked so I can freeze them. Gave everything a good watering at 6.30am. My poor tomatoes plants are shriveling in the heat.
Did my first pump & stretch class in months today & it was great. Can’t do lunges or squats very well still, but that should improve over time🤞🏼.

Good morning tooters, it’s going to be the highest temp for us so far this summer - 39c forecast 🥵. Need to go up to my place & give my garden a good watering & fill the birdbath early today. I think I’ll be closing up the doors & windows early. Catch up with my sister this morning & see how she is. Then home to hide in the cool.

Good morning tooters, welcome to the weekend. I need to get myself moving & do the jobs before the heat arrives. It’s a beautiful 18c atm but heading to 36c 🥵. Washing is done & out, I need to shower & head home from my sit to water my own garden & check on things then come back & do the same here.
The rest of the day will be an indoor one, no doubt scrolling on here, listening to music & generally be very quiet. I might grab my yoga mat from home, bring it back & do a class.
