И, признаться, те, кто не застал это всё, практически ничего не потеряли. И вот как-то раз я задумался: а как насчёт попробовать связать пару компьютеров по такой сети уже в наши дни? 這篇來聊一下另外一個 10Mbps 的接取標準 #10base5

其實在過去有另外一個說法
10Base2 被稱為 #thinnet
而 10Base5 稱為 #thicknet
後者比前者約 5 年以前推出
兩者都是使用同軸電纜
並且都運行在 10Mbps

而 10Base5 使用的電纜線更加的粗
在使用上 10Base5 的概念更像是幹線的存在
同樣與 10Base2 一樣可以讓多個節點運行在同一個內網內
不過接取的方式有很大的不同

接入網路的接頭不是使用 #BNC 而是 #N端子 以外
還有另外一個接取方式稱為 #吸血鬼接口 Vampire tap
使用端子對同軸線纜進行穿刺再由收發器轉接為 #AUI 接口
電腦或是終端裝置再透過 AUI 線再接到 #網路卡

而後來 10Base2 出現
由於其低成本、線纜鋪設難度低以及接取的方式也簡單的多
也讓 10Base5 快速的退市

#10BaseT 的出現讓同軸電纜開始慢慢退出區域網路接取標準
