This govt reticence to apply a #GasExportTax or a #SuperProfitTax is not only despicable and a slap in the face of every #Australian, it’s also making a strong case for a call to #EndPoliticalDonations

We cannot have our Parliamentary Representative in the pocket of #ExtractiveIndustries or any #Corporation or #PrivateEnterprises or indeed championing an economic system that has, and is still proving it doesn’t work for the better interests of society as a whole.

Time for a for a #progressiveREvolution at the #VotingBooths people. Use your vote, use your brain put all Australians before your self interests and we might get out OK on the other side.

#AlboPM, you’re a traitor to the people who put you there in good faith.

I do not understand how one can champion ‘the rule of law’ and at the same time condone an illegal act. It just doesn’t make sense, Penny #Wong does not make sense (It must be killing her inside I wager).

BOO to the #Australian govt, yes, looking at you #AlboPM for not having the guts to stand by your avowed principles just because, you know… fear, dependency, hypocrisy, (add terms as appropriate).

It was one of the better interviews of Adam I’ve hear in a long while. He stayed on point with every question. One thing I think he could’ve done better was to pull up the hosts on the ant-semitism question in order to clarify the differences between anti-semitism and the Israeli Netanyahu govt deliberate conflation of the term with criticism of his ultra-nationalist (Zionist) policies (genocide). But overall, he covered all questions very well.

  5. This was an interesting (short) read. On balance the author is square on the mark with his assessment of Australian attitudes towards the US military machine. Euan Graham and Bec Shrimpton of ASPI write:

"This sovereignty-based framing of Australia’s alliance with the US is an embedded feature of Australia’s strategic debate—more so than for other US allies. Expanding the footprint of US military forces excites unusually visceral reactions in Australia. This is odd given that Washington’s other allies in the Indo-Pacific and Europe routinely host far larger numbers of US forces, yet at the same time Australia styles itself as America’s most loyal ally."

There is more to AUKUS than nuclear boats which is much neglected in Media.

I suspect this toot will get me into trouble with many on this platform. Still, there are needs to discuss, share ideas and opinions without necessarily being wedded to any of them.
