A month ago, I turned on the #AppTrackingProtection feature in #DuckDuckGo & a couple hours later, it said it had blocked 887 tracking attempts, by Google alone, in my #Scrabble app alone.

Turns out, a lot of my friends default to google for their search engine. I'm glad that said friends were astonished and unhappy to hear about those 887 attempts. They're not that numb yet. One friend, who deleted his Facebook account last year, had no idea that Facebook can still harvest his info like this.

I've told them, "If you read Shoshana Zuboff's #book The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, I think you'll very much want to protect yourself by using a privacy-focused search engine." Crossing fingers.
