Вспоминают о ней обычно при странных багах, которые сложно диагностировать, или авариях, которые рушат всю инфраструктуру на часы. Некоторое время назад я добрался до задачи рефакторинга DNS инфраструктуры — чтобы сделать её проще, удобнее и надежнее. В этой статье я хочу поделиться своим опытом и расскажу, как у нас получилось сделать внутренний распределенный DNS и управлять им как кодом. Это всё DNS?

There's a common misconception about how DDoS protection works.
People imagine a wall. Traffic hits it, bad stuff bounces off.
The reality is closer to a river system.
The key insight is that the protection doesn't sit in front of your server. It sits at the edge of the internet, where the attack originates.
That's the difference between absorbing an attack and never receiving it.

My colleague @jtk and I worked on a small piece on insights by #Netscout on the DNS root server system. Despite all of the nuisance traffic reaching the root servers, our #DDoS telemetry does not yield terribly much. This is not a bad thing though, and can be explained through the ubiquity of #anycast on the 13 root server instances.

It’d be nice to get a plug n play HDMI dongle, capable of casting from an #iPhone via #AirPlay. I got something called an #Anycast M9 Plus, which was pretty cheap, but I couldn’t get it working (reliably) so idk if it’s a dud or wtv. My #Xiaomi #Android TV box does it pretty well tho after installing an app, but ya.. I’d like that functionality but in the form of a tiny dongle rather than a full-on TV box.

b,i,k,landm#DNS root servers have the "privacy" flag set, meaning the IPs attempted to "hide" themselves. IPInfo suggests methods such as #VPN services. I doubt that.Also, all 13 root server IPs are flagged as #anycast. I thought, there are still ~some~ servers not yet anycasted, but Wikipedia confirms otherwise. Well, well, well...

В этой статье разберу задачу доставки контента и расскажу и решениях, которые помогают нам в RUTUBE. Дано: с одной стороны у нас 17,7 млн ежедневных пользователей, а с другой — 400 млн единиц контента. Оба эти показателя постоянно увеличиваются, а география присутствия пользователей расширяется. Требуется: показывать всем нашим пользователям видео из библиотеки быстро, надежно и эффективно.
