Yesterday was a pretty good day for #RetroGaming , especially in the field of beat-em ups.
This is probably just me, but these games felt like THE beat-em up classics for the #SegaGenesis

#AlienStormAs a kid, my friend and I played these games countless amounts of times, and I don't think we ever once beat them. I always knew why. Being arcade ports, they were designed to be difficult and unfair.
Thinking on it, Streets of Rage was probably the closest we got to beating. We had reached Mr X once.Since then, I had beaten Golden Axe and Streets of Rage, and as of yesterday, I can finally say I completed Alien Storm!
There has been something quite nice about putting these three games to bed! -

Another try, on an easier difficulty. I did get further! I didn’t remember the second boss has a second phase. Or that the second running phase you had to shoot down the spaceship. Mission 7 proved to be too tough even on easy.
One day I will beat this game, though! -

I couldn’t resist. I had to see if the Sega Megadrive collection had my favorite game, well, top five at least, of when I was a kid. And it does! So I played a round of Alien Storm. It’s so much fun 😄
I think I got to Mission 6 and the second boss before game over. Sounds about like it was back in the day, too.
I liked playing as the robot the best. That could explain a lot of things…
