"Fine clear weather, soft haze from the Southward and free from frost. A party was dispatched by land for #Jasper's House, consisting of Messrs. Birnie, Linton, & Sinclair, with one man, two boys, & a guide. Noon, fine. At 4.50 we passed the Junction of Baptiste's River, a considerable stream on the opposite side of the Athabasca.
